This Privacy Policy describes how Academy of Human Development Pte Ltd ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Mind+ mobile application ("App") available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and role (user or counsellor) to enable login and access appropriate features.
- Counselling Data: Information shared during counselling sessions, including messages, session notes, and appointment details.
- User Interactions: We save data based on your interactions with the App, such as preferences, journal entries, assessment responses, session logs, and usage patterns to improve your experience.
- Volunteer Data: If you sign up as a volunteer, we collect task sign-up records, attendance, and assignment details.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: We may collect device identifiers, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting and compatibility.
- Usage Data: Anonymous usage statistics to understand how the App is used, helping us improve functionality.
- Push Notification Tokens: Device tokens required to deliver notifications about appointments, messages, and updates.
1.3 Camera, Microphone & Photo Library
- Camera & Microphone: Used for video consultations with counsellors and capturing profile pictures. Access is requested only when you use these features.
- Photo Library: Used to upload profile pictures and share media. Access is requested only when you choose to select photos.
1.4 Server Data
The App displays information retrieved from our servers. We do not collect or store personal data beyond what is necessary for app functionality. All data transmission is encrypted.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information solely to:
- Provide and maintain the App's core functionality
- Enable secure login for users and counsellors
- Facilitate counselling sessions and appointment management
- Save and sync user interaction data across devices
- Deliver push notifications for appointments, messages, and updates
- Improve app performance and user experience
- Respond to support requests
- Ensure compliance with legal obligations
We do not use your information for marketing purposes or share it with third parties except as described below.
3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: With trusted third-party service providers who assist in app operations (e.g., cloud hosting, video conferencing), bound by confidentiality agreements.
- Counsellors: Information you share in counselling sessions is accessible to your assigned counsellor for the purpose of providing support.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and safety.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred.
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
- Data encryption in transit and at rest
- Secure server infrastructure
- Regular security audits
- Access controls limiting data access to authorised personnel only
Despite these measures, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by law.
- Deletion on Request: You may request deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time through the App (Profile > Delete Account) or by contacting us at admin@ahd.com.sg. We will process your request within 30 days and confirm once deletion is complete.
- Automatic Deletion after Inactivity: Accounts that have shown no activity for a continuous period of 90 days will be automatically scheduled for deletion. You will receive an email notification at least 14 days before deletion occurs, giving you the opportunity to log in and retain your account. If no action is taken, your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted at the end of the notice period.
- Exceptions: Certain data may be retained for a longer period where required by applicable law or regulatory obligations (e.g., financial records, anonymised aggregated statistics).
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Correction: Update or correct your information
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. Requests are processed within 30 days. See Section 5 for full details on data deletion.
- Portability: Request transfer of your data
- Opt-out: Withdraw consent where applicable

7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete it immediately.
8. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers in accordance with Singapore data protection regulations.
9. Third-Party Services
The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their policies separately.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the App or email. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
